Do you ever have random people walk up to you while you’re out and about and they just start having an entire conversation with you, as if they’ve known you forever?
It happens to me almost every. single. time. that I go out. It happens so often, in fact, that it has become second nature for me to just stand there, listen, and “happily” engage in conversation. 😆
Now don’t get me wrong, sometimes these strangers are actually quite fun and interesting. So interesting in fact, that every once in awhile when they start to walk off, I wonder if it would be creepster like to chase them down and ask them for their phone number. 😏🤡😅
Don’t leave me, interesting stranger! 🤗
Anyway, I’m bringing all this up because it happened again to me today. Today I was randomly informed about several different meme’s that I should be up to date with… from a complete stranger, you guys. I didn’t even make eye contact.🙈
I’m really not understanding what kind of vibe I’m giving off that people are soooo comfortable with me that they can just walk right up to me and start randomly talking to me about anything and everything but I guess I’m pretty okay with that.
There was this one time when I was in a party store with my sister and a woman darted down the isle rather quickly, completely passed in front of me and from my peripheral vision, I saw her stop dead in her tracks, turn around, and walk back towards me. I looked up at her thinking I might know her…
She then proceeded to tell me all about her nephew and his birthday party and how if I’m shopping for a birthday, I should check out this other local store because they had great things on sale, too. I mean, she was super sweet. .. but why did she feel compelled to tell me this?
Anyway, by the end of this 15 minute conversation we had, weeellll after she had walked away, my sister finally looked at me, confused, and said, “Wait, did you know her?”
I simply replied, “Nope, never seen her in my life.”
She was flabbergasted, you guys. She watched this woman pass me up, back it up, and then approach me with her nephew’s birthday stories.
I’m telling you, it happens to me all the time. I’ve noticed when I’m out with others, it doesn’t happen as much but occasionally it does. Are people just out there singling out all the lonely looking people?
I seriously have so many “stranger” stories, I could write a book. If there wasn’t already a Netflix series called “Stranger Things”, I’m pretty sure that would be the name of it.
What about you? Anyone ever walk up to you and start telling you the most random things? I seriously can’t be the only one. 😅 Right?
Until next time,
